Massive Delays

Unfortunately, because we are both rather busy with more important stuff right now, we haven’t been able to do much at all with this game since my last post.  I did manage to get the code pretty much finished for making an enemy vehicle chase the player and try to ram them off the road, and Jeff has managed to get a simple shooting mechanism for the car working.  Things look pretty sweet so far, but there’s still a lot to be done, and it damn well ain’t gonna be done any time soon, that’s for sure.

Hopefully we’ll have something more interesting up here soon.

The Birth of a Concept

So.  Jeff and I came up with this concept for a game, where you pretty much have to drive along the motorway in your mashed-up banger of a car, running down zombies and soldiers in a post-apocalyptic world, whilst attempting to gather supplies in the form of water and scrap parts, to upgrade your car.  We love the idea, and so the project is a go.

The name of the game?  Run ‘em Down:  Zombie Apocalypse

We’ve begun working on the necessary coding required for the game, and we already have a whole bunch of basic features built.  Things like realistic vehicle movement, randomly appearing enemies and obstacles, damage, and points.  This, however, is only the tip of the iceberg, and there is a whole load more to get done, not to mention the fact that all of the art at the moment is nothing more than coloured squares (except for a few concept drawings).

We have no deadline, as this started as – and still is – a learning project.  Fortunately though, we are very happy with how things are going, and we are committed to getting this project going full steam ahead, and making a game that will be entertaining not only the first time, but every other time too.

We should be updating fairly often on the progress of this project, as well as posting updates on visuals, and possibly even gameplay demos.

The Little Big Bang!

BANG!

… and then there was a Universe…

Shortly after, the Little Green Man Studios development blog was started by two plucky young (ish) Flash artists/developers – Paul & Jeff - who planned to use their abilities in art, a rough knowledge of coding, to take over the Universe while it was stillonly a few million years old.
